I am considering the purchase of some data recovery packages to use as a side-business. I’m leaning towards one of two choices. The first is OnTrack’s DataRecovery Professional. The second is SpinRite Version 6.0. I haven’t personally used either of these yet. Which is the best piece of software commercially available? Any imput is appreciated.

It’s highly confidential and the computer had no add-on such File Shredder and all. Just your usual Computer; Windows XP, PDF Reader, Winamp, you know. I used Shift + Delete, and i am a perfectionist guy. I need to know if this is safe.

I bought a Seagate external hard drive 4 months ago. I don’t even use it that much. I was going to move data from my pc to the drive and it suddenly stopped working. I have been trying to contact seagate and they’ll make you wait for hours and the websites warranty section is always down. Seagate offered mre 00 & 00 for them to recover my files. I am looking for a place where I could bring in my hard drive and recover my data.

I am trying to recover a few old files from the "My Documents" folder. I have seen various recover programs online but none of them list that folder as an option; only the regular drives (C:, D:, etc.) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know, seriously, of a way to do this without a floppy disk drive? I do not have the ‘recovery disk’ and my operating system disk won’t let me re-install with that either because it is a service pack 1 and I’m running service pack 2 xp. My friend performed a system restore on her computer & a lot of her important files were lost. She tried a program called "UNDELETE" by Paretologic & it found the lost files, but then wanted her to pay for her to actually restore the lost files. It didn’t say anything about having to pay until that point. I’m hoping there might be some out there that are truly free & if so, which ones?

theres a few but they dont recover iso files, I had an important iso file and I thought I coppied it but it seems I dident and I formatted my drive. I was avle to recover some pictures and videos with safe recovery software but not my iso files, what do you suggest?

I had a recent system crash while trying to download the service patch2 for Windows XP. It completely disabled my computers internet connections and would not enable me to make a new connection. I brought it to the "Geek Squad" whom told me I needed to run the systems restore disks as it was constantly disabling the systems components. Of course, the biggest problem with that is that I bought the computer used and did not get the recovery disks for it.
