I have a Toshiba Satellite model M105-S3041 that is giving me trouble. I just can’t turn it off while connected to an outlet. I go to start, turn off computer, turn off and it begins doing it, but whent it shuts down, Windows starts loading again and again. I have to disconnect it from the outlet to turn it off. Then when I want to turn it on, it has to be plugged to the outlet. Only when it’s running on batteries is when it works OK. I took it to service but they said it is a software problem. I erased the hard disk and made a recovery but that didn’t solve it. I bought it on Best Buy in CA but the thing is that I live in Guatemala. Anyone help?

I have a Maxtor OneTouch 4 mini and I have accidently deleted 7.45 GB of files that are critical to me and I need them back now. Do you have any free tools to recover these files and any tips on how to do this?

well i accidentally deleted a few folders full of pics on my PC over the weekend. i deleted them and emptied the "recycle bin" without realizing that there were actually some pics in there that i wanted to keep. anyways long story short.. any easy way to recover them? im no computer wiz and if im gonna have to call the geek squad then forget about it.

I am so angry with myself i just marked 5 videos to send with bluetooth, and there was one which i wanted to delete, and without realizing, i pushed delete on one of them, but I had marked the 5 videos already so they were all deleted! Can I recover these files?

Hi, my system did not come with an install CD for windows (XP home) as it has a recovery partition instead. Anyone know how I can install the recovery console as a boot option without the windows CD?

I’ve just bought Norton Ghost 14.0 for at harvey Norman and cant seem to find the expiry date anywhere, is there an expiry date just like a 30 day trial version? (its related to my product key right?) if you know where to look such as the Norton Ghost software program or on the packaging or manual please let me know.
Also how many times can the product key (that came with my version of Norton Ghost 14.0) be installed with full access to live update before the product key becomes useless?
Here is a question for a person who has actually dealt with Norton Ghost 14.0, I installed the Norton Ghost Software, entered Create a custom Symantec Recovery Disk CD (SRD CD) through the TASK tab, clicked next until it prompted me to insert the SRD CD, then click BACK until I arrived back to the task tab/page, so I didn’t complete the process to create the disk, now the option (Create a custom Symantec Recovery Disk CD) in the TASK tab is not there anymore, is there another way to get back into the Create a custom Symantec Recovery Disk CD option, I know the disc is just incase I lose the CD, so its not necessary. But the fact that option has dissappeared together with the long time it takes (8 seconds) for Norton Ghost 14.0 to complete loading it’s meter (at the startup of Norton GH) which states ‘Connecting and retrieving information from backup and recovery of services WINXP- ….’ ( probably due to the 3 recovery points i created on the same drive windows is installed along with everything else) would warrant uninstalling Norton ghost and installing it again. Any tips on fixing my two problems; long loading time and entering the Create a custom Symantec Recovery Disk CD option again? I have 160gb hard drive partitioned 80gb (C:\) and 80gb (D:\) whats the best practice procedures next time i installed use norton ghost for saving my recovery points?

Ok so i deleted some files I did not mean to delete.
I did this a while ago but didnt realize it till now… so is there anyway i can get them back? OR am i just going to have to deal with this?

i deleted them from my recycle bin aswelll

I deleted a document on my computer, and it’s not in my recycle bin. I don’t have tons of money to shell out for a program for one document, but I would like to get the document back…

can someone please help me?! Thanks!

I updated to Microsoft Service Pack 2, when I came home the next day my computer had restarted and said that there was no hard disk.

I tried the windows xp recovery and it couldn’t find any drives and then I tried to reinstall XP and it said there were no hard drives found!

so i have no computer now

What may have happened and is there a way to get it back?!
I have never ‘opened’ my computer and I live alone so Im sure no one else could have done this.

I deleted the temperary files on my computer….is there any way to get them back?
Ok…I tried that. But I can not find anything that says dates or restore. I found the system restore tab..but don’t know what to do from there.

I accidentally deleted my anti-virus

I dont have spare recovery cds for this desktop. If I format then install windows ultimate that I have for this desktop, would windows automatically detect wireless networks even if I dont have the drivers right away but have a built in wireless card?
Sorry to sound stupid but how would I find the drivers? Basically getting online with another computer and visiting the hp site I think?

OK, A customer came to me today requesting data recovery service. I said no prob! He brings his items in, and we say bye. I go over to check it out, and see an ancient Apple Power PC and a pile of 3.5 inch floppies.

I tried recovering the floppies with the Apple I have, but MAC OSX and data written with MAC OS 7 Just don’t get along… AT ALL

I went and tried every floppy recovery program I have on a PC. I did at least get a list of the bad sectors, but none of the programs were compatible with 1.0 MB floppies.

I suspect E.S.D. is the issue. they are recoverable, but after multiple failed attempts, My question is this. Does anyone know of a data recovery program that can run on windows, and read/repair data written in the pre 82x old school MAC OS?

I called the guy and said it’s probably not going to happen, then he told me what was on them, and what he would pay me if I recovered his files…. let’s just say I became dedicated immediately!

And it must be a Windows program, oddly enough, OSX is far less compatible with it’s OS predecessor than Windows is.

If someone helps me find a solution, I swear I will thumb up and vote best answer for every question that person posts for the next month. Oh, and of course the 10 points.

Here is what I’ve tried so far

ADRC data recovery

testdisk

Disk investigator

PCI File Recovery

Flopshow

Recover floppy pro

Thanks!

I Deleted them, and then i removed them from my recycle bin… but i was wondering if there was anyway to recover them somehow? im not a computer expert so i was just wondering any help would be nice =] ( im on windows vista basic)

what should i do?

My computer is corrupt and I don’t have a windows xp CD or recovery disk to start over. I do have a Windows XP and Service Pack I on a DVD-R but I don’t know how to extract windows xp from it, all it does is back it up which made my hard drive full. I have a Maxtor hard drive and it came with a CD Maxblast 4 and I don’t know if that would help me reinstall my computer. Any suggestions?

Files were not found using Undel programs. Files were deleted in the last 2 wks.

I repartitioned my computer but unfortunately some files which were backed-up were lost…

any program or process would help…

There are many data recovery companies that offers expensive data recovery services and there are various freeware and affordable softwares in the net. What should a layman prefer?

Is it possible to recover files that were deleted over a half a year ago, i had to reformat the disk once due to a virus and lost lots of files, is there anyway to recover them?
