Hello experts,

I’m a newbie in computer hardware stuff.

I’ve a scenario and I would like to connect 2 desktop computers (A - faulty, B - OK) via a SATA connection. How do I go about doing this?

A has lost its recovery / service partition. So, connecting it to B (same model as A), the hard disk contents in B can be copied over to A so that A now has a proper recovery / service partition.

How can I get this accomplished? Details will be very much appreciated, thank you!

I emptied my recycle bin yesterday with about 100 songs in it. Now something bad has happened and i neen those songs back. Is there a FREE and EASY way to get them back

Hello, just want to ask if there’s any such tool as you can bring back all of your personal files after you accidentally deleted it while reformatting the operating system? thanks for your time. cheers!

I just accidentally, permanently deleted some files (.AVI, .MKV and a DVD Movie) on my external hard disk. How can I recover them?

it lets me choose between Launch start-up repair and start windows normally. I tried both and they don’t work what can I do to fix this. I have windows vista premium. The darn computer worked just fine last night.

ive tried alot of free recovery programs and none of them found the files i was looking for.

I have bought Sony vaio - VGN-FS415B from UK 10 months back. I lost my warranty card as I was travelling a lot. Without this, I can not register my product with Vaio and without registering I can reach Support. I am in a dead lock.
1 month back, my vaio got crashed and forcfully I had to reformat the disk but I need to use my warranty facility to restore it back to factory condition. Another unfortuenate thing is I had not made recovery disk as well. Sony is the only stupid company whcichw ill not give us a recovery adisk ask users to preapre on their own.
Please understand my situation and help me to know from where I can get my vaio warranty number. On the laptop I could see only Service tag , SL Number and Windows License Key…but not warranty.

I accidentally deleted infected files from the virus vault of AVG 8.0. How can I recover the files previously emptied? pls. answer. thank you

I’m told you have to make your own recovery disk for windows 7, but with that disk can you restore the computer to "factory state".(How it was when it was new, meaning delete everything)

I would prefer if you could give me advice on doing it for free, but if you know somebody/ company that costs (preferrably in Orlando) I wouldn’t mind.

I had to use HP recovery to rid my computer of a small virus. (It’s a long process but it works.) When it came back on things were wrong.

First: My speakers do not work. I’ve checked device manager and the connection but nothing.

Second, and this is the big one: I have to download Windows XP Service Pack 2, at least I think I do, to re-install my iTunes. But it won’t let me because I don’t seem to have enough space. When I try to click on Disk Cleanup, it won’t open. Sometimes it pops up when I try to download Windows XP SP2, but it won’t load. Someone help!
But you guys, The speakers didn’t come with the comp. Though they did work fine before I activated HP Recovery.

My mom was working on a document under Bean on her iMac computer. She highlighted the entire document and then hit control + V, or paste, and another paragraph pasted over that and lost what she had written. She did not save it as she was typing and did not click on undo. I know it might not be possible, but would there be any way to recover what she had typed even though she did not save the document?

I have an ‘04 Mac computer. Since it’s been in my possession, I have regretfully deleted some documents of mine off of it because at the time, I felt they were no longer useful. I was wondering if there is any software in stores that allows you to retrieve deleted files from your computer. I know there’s software that allows you to retrieve deleted emails, but is there one that allows you to recover deleted documents/files?

I think I have 2 Windows XP Home OS in my computer. I need to delete the bad one.

My Windows XP Home would not run after I had loaded a PC game, and I used my CD Recovery disk. During the reload process, the program would not accept the license key saying it is not valid. However, I managed to complete the recovery process. Now, at start-up a DOS display is asking to select one of the same Windows XP Home editions listed. I selected the first one (done by the recovery). My Windows XP works but now I always get a message saying Windows is not genuine and that I must activate it (and I have x-number of days to do it). I think, somehow, the earlier defective Windows was not deleted (license key still active) when the C-drive was reformatted and now I have 2 instances of Windows XP Home in my computer. How do I delete the bad OS, and so I can use my license key again? Or, do I have a different problem?

I have a HP Pavilion 514a desktop PC (Australian version) and ages ago when I got it, I attempted to create a set of backup CD’s. This failed at disk 8 / 9 and because HP only allow for you to have one shot at this, I could no longer attempt to create the rest. I want this image back on this PC, as I have been using just normal Windows XP for a while, but prefer HP’s image (the software and stuff). I have deleted the recovery Partition, so there’s no hope in recovering that at all, and I have attempted to use the CD’s, but as soon as it finishes disk #8, it asks me for disk #9, which I evidently don’t have. This is disheartening as I only need that last CD to complete the recovery process. So my question is, can anyone point me to a download link for the recovery CD set for this PC, or could anyone tell me a solution to bypass this final CD check (it would be incomplete, but it’d be better than nothing). Please, I was really looking forward to having this old image on (I THINK it was Windows XP Home, Service Pack 1a, but I’m not sure). Thanks for any help in advance, and sorry for such a long question. Have a nice day guys. =)

i accidentally deleted a video off my camera, and i need it back.
it was on a memory card and it got deleted.
can i get it back in any way?

I made recovery disk for my windows vista home basic last year and tonight i wanna recover my laptop and when i restart my computer with the disk inside, the recovery disks dont load, help me please

My laptop was messed up…So I thought I should do a computer recovery(im not computer savvy, so I’m not sure what I did or if I should of done it ) anyway…My computer seems like it is back to normal except I cant connect to my wireless router. In fact, I dont even see my old program that let me search for wireless networks in the area-it’s gone.
My router is a Linksys, would my best bet be to just call Linksys customer service and have them connect me? Or is there something that would be easier and less time consuming?
The geek squad at best buy left a disk labeled "customizer 351" in my laptop when they previously had itto change the hard drive. Could I use this disk to help me? Or should I return it?
Anyway, my laptop is a Gateway…um and I’m just trying to connect to my wireless router after I did a full system recovery or reboot or whatever it’s called….if you need more info then feel free to e-mail me…any help would be great since I’m stuck using the interenet at mylibrary…or drivign an hour to my mothers house to use her computer…please help!
Any clue on how to install the wifi driver?
is it involved with my recovery disk? haha I am just so confused, I probably should of left my laptop all messed up….
alright well I put in the disk to install that stuff but it says "error 302" and I remmeber that happening the first time I tried settting itup….I’m gonna have to call Linksys I suppose…

My computer came with vista pre-installed and i was wondering if i got an xp recovery cd, would it let me install xp on my vista computer

I’m pretty computer savvy, my guess is they retroactively go into your window’s backup files and restores them retroactively.

Whenever you install programs onto your computer, your computer automatically backs up your files in case the installation messes up your computer.

Some computers have a set time that backs up automatically, many businesses have this feature on at the end of each work day to prevent data loss.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I think this is the only method on how people can recover files you thought have been long deleted.

I just got a used Compaq Evo laptop running windows XP pro. It did NOT come with an OS cd or recovery cd. I do have XP Home recovery CDs for my Sony Vaio, but they dont seem to register with the Compaq.

I attempted to update from the vanilla xp pro to Service Pack 2, but towards the end of the install my computer crashed. Now when I try to boot it says "Non-system disk or disk error."

I do not have a cd in the drive or any usb devices attached. I do not have a floppy drive. I think the SP2 install messed up the Master Boot Record. I think I need to run Recovery Console but I do not have the Boot CD to get into it.

Does anybody have any advice or know where I can acquire an iso image of the windows xp pro boot cd or a bootable recovery console?

Thank you for your response.
