I have had a file that I can’t download anymore, but it got deleted a good while ago. I used 2 different file recover programs, but neither of them found it, but they did find hundreds of other things I deleted long before then. Any answers to this?

Im buying a set of windows vista recovery CD’s on Craigslist for , now, will this install the whole OS on my computer? im currently running a HP Comaq dc5100 1GB ram 80GBHDD and have Windows XP on it.

my friend wanted to me download some songs for him and add them to his itouch, but when i connected the itouch and it opened to itunes i updated it or something like that and it rebooted and all of his music, apps, and videos were erased. how can i get them back or recover them so he won’t get mad at me?

I was able to remove some files confirmed as trojans from my computer. I started it back up and as soon as I logged in it tryed to run a batch file and use the command "shutdown -r -t 60" I belive, so I aborted the shutdown and the computer worked perfectly. I shut it down later and when I started it up it gave me a page fault error caused by a driver I did not install. any way I need to install SP2 but I can’t start safe mode, or recovery console (somthing changed admin password), i’ve tried PEBUILDER boot disk but it wont start, any way to install it. I was thinking remotely.

How do I recover files that where deleted out of the recycle bin in Vista..??

I made a new account for my parents a few days ago, I copied all their documents to the new one. Then I asked them if it was ok to get rid of the other one, they said yes, so I did. After that the documents of my dad were not in the new folder, but my mom’s were. She has a backup of her files, my dad doesn’t. I don’t know if when I deleted the old account my dad’s files were deleted too because of that. I need to get those files back or I won’t be here to see any answers. Thanks for the help!

We have gone through all of Comcast’s repair options and Toshiba support options and they say our last resort is to use the recovery disc that came with the computer. I have not backed up my computer yet and would like to avoid this option if possible. My computer will connect on line at my office with a different service. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue without the recovery disk? By the way, Comcast was working on the line the day before this happened to our computers. Do you think this has any connection to our problems?

I just tried the fix recommended by acklan for gail y’s question, and it worked. Thanks so much acklan…not being able to connect to the internet for 2 days and not getting any help from Comcast support or Toshiba has been very frustrating.

My problem is I upgraded to windows 7 and before the trial ends in august I would like to be able to convert back to vista.

I have an external hard drive. Also I have other computers in the house hold. My vista came pre-installed on my laptop.

I have a new HP Pavilion A6550in with windows Vista home basic preloaded. Within a few days I began to get start up repair every time I turned on the PC. It also got the blue screen. It says "your computer has been turned off to prevent damage to your computer" and loads all the physical memory on the hard disk.Then the hard disk got problems.Then the service person changed RAM, Hard disk, Motherboard and graphics card one after the other. I reloaded the OS form the recovery disk we created. Even then now I am getting the Blue screen. What could have been the problem and is there any solution?

Hits on the internet are telling me I can recover my documents before they are overwritten by new files. But how come others say that a reformatted hard disk still has chance to be completely recovered of its old files? It sounds like there is a greater possibility to recover files from reformatted hard disk than files accidentally erased but still existing somewhere in my HD. Please explain and clarify to me everything bout this matter and suggest what would I do coz I accidentally deleted my documents and I’ve been crying for two hours now. thnx

Has anyone ever done data recovery from an (external) hard disk?
There are some service/shops that do this, even if the disk is broken in two (mine is just not working somewhere in the power connection), but I don’t know the cost.
Have anyone do it so he can tell an estimated cost?

Alright i have lg neon, and i was looking at memory status and on external memory gave me the options to format, (unknown to the consequences i pressed it and everthing i had in external memory was wiped. It had alot of files and pictures of me n friends on it. I was wondering if there was anyway to re-obtain these for they r pretty valuable to me.

My computer has been acting up lately, I can’t seem to use system restore to go to an old point either and the updates are failing so I’ve decided I might do window’s recovery. What I’m concerned about is that my computer did not come with a Windows Vista cd so if I do this will it wipe out windows vista?

I can’t do much with it because it says access is denied, but it doesn’t give me the option to login. So how can I login as administrator?

I have new HDD. Only 4 months ago when I bought Seagate Barracuda 7200.11. Suddenly it can’t boot up. It says "Disk read error". Before it happens, the HDD made squeaky noise, not often, but unusual, and took unusually longer time to read/write or access than normally it does. Then I used SeaTools software to check it for errors. It returned "write cache failed to write file X to disk".
I suspect that the motor doesn’t run. If it indeed doesn’t rotate, is it possible to recover the data? Is there any cheap data recovery services in South East Asia area?
Is it possible to make it back to spin? Because, spending thousands of dollars is not that worth it.
