Most of them are as it is their job to protect the data not risk loosing it and the only way they could make it worse is if they overwrite your data which they don’t do.
The only thing I was worried about was sending my hard drive over with a courier. I trust the company but not the courier. So you are best to go to a company in your local area. If it is Manchester/Preston then have a look at these guys

I assume you’re talking about a crashed hard drive.
