How to recover files deleted from the recycle bin?
I would like a program that is free and not really complicated, because my cousin deleted four years of documents from my computer by accident and I NEED to get them back, as I’m writing a book and it was half finished and now its gone and I would like it back. So the main thing is it needs to be free, because I do not have the money to pay for anything.

Follow the tips to recover files erased from the Recycle Bin.
If the problem is that you have sent a file to the Recycle Bin and don’t know how to recover it, simply open Windows Explorer, navigate to ‘Recycle Bin’ and click on it. Right-click the file you want to recover and click ‘restore’. Otherwise, proceed to Step #2.
Don’t save anything more to the hard drive. Any new files saved to the hard drive will copy over the erased data.
Download file recovery software. This How-To will cover how to use PC Inspector File Recovery, but similar products will work as well.
Save the program, if possible, to another hard disk, USB flash drive, external drive, etc, to prevent overwriting the lost data. As stated in Step #2, new data will copy over erased data.
*OPTIONAL: Go to Windows Explorer and select the drive you want to recover files from. Right-click the drive and select rename. Type in something memorable. This will make it easy to locate when using the PC Inspector program.
Install and launch PC Inspector File Recovery. Double-click ‘Recover Deleted Files’. Select from ‘Logical Drives’ the drive you renamed earlier (if you followed Step #5) and the click confirm (check-mark) button.
Press the + to expand the ‘Deleted’ folder. Files or folders which you have deleted will be colored in green.
Use the ‘Find’ function to locate the file you’re looking for, or simply scroll through the files. Select the files you want to recover and save them to a directory on your hard drive.
Use Windows Explorer to navigate to folder where you saved the recovered file. If you followed the steps above, the file should be there.

You can often successfully recover deleted files from a PC, it all depends on what has happened since the files were deleted.
When you delete files the data itself isn’t deleted, just the index entry that tells the system where the data for those files is located. The area containing the deleted data is also now marked as free space so it is available for any new files to be written there instead.
If and when that happens, then it is too late to recover your deleted files so it is very, very important to not save any new files or data to the device concerned.
One of the easiest ways to see if you can recover deleted files is to try some good file recovery software.
A good tip is to try the free demo version of a commercial product that will scan the device for deleted files and show you exactly what files can be recovered. At least that will show you if you can recover the deleted files or if it’s too late already. You can find more useful information on how to recover deleted files at
