HP laptop recovery disks? My laptop has died on me and I need the recovery disk(s) to repair it?
I have contacted HP online including the HQ’s in USA and by telephone IN UK (60p) a minute!! The information they keep giving me is totally useless! This being directing me to an online provider to purchase the recovery disk(s) I need for my model however as I keep telling them, my model is not listed? I have again emailed HP HQ’s, however they say all they can do is direct me to the very expensive UK helpline to which I just get the same response, HELP!! My HP laptop details are as follows:- p/n GF773EA…..s/n CND7170TP7 and service number G5055EA…
If anyone can please advise me where I can purchase the recovery disk(s) it would be very much appreciated!
no luck on ebay as such….if I purchase new operating system disks will this do the job? as I obviously want to keep what I have on the laptop?
Need to recover lost data? We deliver fast and secure data recovery with our downloadable software!
These days, manufacturers do not supply recovery CD’s, there is (or was) a program on the disk to burn them, but you have to run it.

If you take your laptop to any competent computer repair shop, they can back up the data from your disk, whatever is left, and reinstall windows and your data . Much depends on how badly your disk drive is damaged. If it’s a complete loss, your data is toast.

Try ebay. http://www.ebay.com
I would either look on ebay or craigslist or if you really need them go to the manufacture or microsoft. Also you could just buy a new OS
I have read somewhere that most computers nowadays do not come with the reboot disks. You have to insist with the company to get them. If they bring up the number to the expensive place, tell them you’ve called and gotten the runaround and want a solution with who you are speaking to now. Write a letter to the head of HP to find out what is going on and detail as specifically but as short and sweet as possible, how much of a headache it’s been to get a simple question answered and about the runaround and expense and could they help you out?
Your specific model may not be listed, but ask THEM which disk version listed you should get with your model? Sometimes, several models use the same motherboard or something, and so one certain recovery disk may be in place for several of their models. You see what I mean?
Some say ebay but if you have no idea, then you have to go back to the source. Good luck.
