I have this old floppy disk that i found when i was cleaning, and i remembered that i had stored some old short stories i had written ages ago. maybe about 9 years or so. I was able to retrieve MOST of the files off of it except for 4 of them. Then i just kept trying repeatedly to open them and one of them (after several attempts) magically opened up, but that’s not to say for the last three. I ran norton diskdoctor on the drive and it found no errors.
I tried searching and i found this website where the guy said to "copy all sectors from the disk" or something… but in laymans terms, i had no idea what he was talking about.
i realize that i can send it to a data recovery service if I’d be willing to spend the money for these files, but I’m still trying to find out if there are any other ways to get these THREE out of maybe 30 files to open!
please help me if you can!
im desperate.
these files aren’t so much important.. but priceless in a sense that its my childhood.
If anyone living near san diego california and knows a data recovery company then answer this question by putting its website & address
Because i have a faulty HDD (head crash i think) and want to recover my files
My Mom just bought a new computer & gave me her old one. This one is probably over 5 years old. She likes to download lots of music, videos, games & other stuff so it’s kind of slow. I tried uninstalling programs, but it’s still slow, it freezes & does this critical error warning sound for no reason, so I was thinking of doing a full system restore. She had a virus a couple of years ago & had her computer serviced by Nerds on Call. The computer is an emachines Windows XP, model #T3985, 340 Intel Celeron D Processor 340, 80GB hard drive, DVD+/-RW 16x Double Layer Drive, 512MB, 2.93GHz
She didn’t have any of the paperwork or a system recovery disk, so I was wondering will it work if hit F11 & do a full system restore or since it has been serviced by a company other than emachines will it do more damage than good? I don’t really want to have to spend more money on the computer since it is working, so I’m trying to figure out what is the simplest way to get it back to the way it was when she bought it or is that even possible? Since it has been serviced before does the full system restore option even work anymore?
it gives me 2 choices repair & start windows whichever i press it just goes back to windows error recovery page..
can anyone help please?
want a recobery program that can search deep for lost & deleted photos and files
I bought a Seagate external hard drive 4 months ago. I don’t even use it that much. I was going to move data from my pc to the drive and it suddenly stopped working. I have been trying to contact seagate and they’ll make you wait for hours and the websites warranty section is always down. Seagate offered mre 00 & 00 for them to recover my files. I am looking for a place where I could bring in my hard drive and recover my data.
My friend performed a system restore on her computer & a lot of her important files were lost. She tried a program called "UNDELETE" by Paretologic & it found the lost files, but then wanted her to pay for her to actually restore the lost files. It didn’t say anything about having to pay until that point. I’m hoping there might be some out there that are truly free & if so, which ones?
I just deleted some very important pictures (they were for my work portfolio) & I need to get them back! I’ve downloaded 3 demo version of data recovery software for the flash drive & each one says in order for me to get my files back, I have to buy them. Is there a site where I can download a free exe. and receive all my files back? Or does someone have a license key?
