Has anyone ever done data recovery from an (external) hard disk?
There are some service/shops that do this, even if the disk is broken in two (mine is just not working somewhere in the power connection), but I don’t know the cost.
Have anyone do it so he can tell an estimated cost?

I have a mp3 player. I accidentally formatted it. I want to recover those deleted files for free but I cant. i already tried diskdigger and smart data recovery (trial) but they always say that no filed are found. Please suggest a free method for recovering my music.

Ok, I wanted to install a game on my pc, but I didn’t have enough free space on the c drive to do it, and stupid old me went and deleted a bunch of stuff, and came to find out the next day that I needed some of the stuff I deleted, for the pc to actually work. I found out what the problem is, but I can’t afford over 0+/- to fix it. The problem is I need data recovery to fix it. The other thing is, how can I fix it myself, so I don’t have to waste money I don’t have? Thanks for all your help, as I do appreciate it greatly.
BTW, my system originally ran off of windows 95, now it has windows 98 se. I held down the F8 like you said, all it did was make some sort of beeping noise. The moniter reads:

Invalid system disk
Replace the disk, and then press any key

BUT there isn’t even any disk in either the a drive or c drive!

I am recent grad looking for a job. That means I need the laptop badly and don’t have much money to fix it. The hard disk, started giving off some really loud noises in the morning and by afternoon, BIOS wasn’t even detecting it. I am not sure how long it would take to fix this and how much a new one would cost. Same about data recovery too. Any suggestions or advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

My memory stick snapped - the metal connection and the green memory board disconnected and I have important data on my memory stick. I would like to send my memory stick to a company/place that offers free/cheap (less than 0 please) repair for the physical damage or/as well data recovery onto a separate memory storage device.

I tried PC Inspector File Recovery but when I saved my data to my desktop (other hard drive) it did not work.. and all the files apparently had the same size so something is wrong.

I am considering the purchase of some data recovery packages to use as a side-business. I’m leaning towards one of two choices. The first is OnTrack’s DataRecovery Professional. The second is SpinRite Version 6.0. I haven’t personally used either of these yet. Which is the best piece of software commercially available? Any imput is appreciated.

I have an old Ibook and for some reason I can’t open my personal folder. Maybe because I put a file vault on it which makes it more difficult to retrieve.It’s not accepting my old password and it doesn’t allow me to assign a new password. ok this is what happen. by mistake i format my storage hard drive (wipe out) (slave drive) where I HAD my videos, pictures, software,and other folders. i used some data recovery softwares but no success, I had over 100 videos and family pictures all gone can somebody please HELLLLLPPPPPPP!!!! I have to send in a broken hard drive (from an external hard drive) into a data recovery lab to get my 10 years worth of pictures off of it. Prices I’ve seen online range from -2300 and I have NO idea which companies are reputable and which just plain stink.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? If so, which companies do you recommend and what prices seemed reasonable?

Also, the issue with my drive is not one that be fixed by simply plugging the drive into a new enclosure or running a recovery software program.

i know most of them have warrantys but are they any that include data recovery?
