I have a new HP Pavilion A6550in with windows Vista home basic preloaded. Within a few days I began to get start up repair every time I turned on the PC. It also got the blue screen. It says "your computer has been turned off to prevent damage to your computer" and loads all the physical memory on the hard disk. Then the hard disk got problems. Then the service person changed RAM, Hard disk, Motherboard and graphics card one after the other. I reloaded the OS form the recovery disk we created. Even then now I am getting the Blue screen. What could have been the problem and is there any solution?
Hits on the internet are telling me I can recover my documents before they are overwritten by new files. But how come others say that a reformatted hard disk still has chance to be completely recovered of its old files? It sounds like there is a greater possibility to recover files from reformatted hard disk than files accidentally erased but still existing somewhere in my HD. Please explain and clarify to me everything bout this matter and suggest what would I do coz I accidentally deleted my documents and I’ve been crying for two hours now. thnx
I was using my Acer Aspire 5100 today when all of a sudden it shut itself off. It is now displaying the message 0200 fixed disk failure 0. From what I understand, this means that my hard disk crashed. Thankfully, my computer is still under manufacturer’s warranty (I bought it on 6/09/07 and the warranty is for a year.) so I know that they will probably replace the hard disk. But I understand that all files and "software" are probably lost. Does this mean that they’ll send my computer back sans Windows Vista and all of the basic software that the computer came with? When I bought the laptop from Circuit City they didn’t give me any recovery disks so if I have it serviced and they have to replace the hard drive, am I screwed out of Windows Vista and the basic software that came with the computer? Or will they reload any software that originally came with the computer under my warranty? Any ideas?
Hello experts,
I’m a newbie in computer hardware stuff.
I’ve a scenario and I would like to connect 2 desktop computers (A - faulty, B - OK) via a SATA connection. How do I go about doing this?
A has lost its recovery / service partition. So, connecting it to B (same model as A), the hard disk contents in B can be copied over to A so that A now has a proper recovery / service partition.
How can I get this accomplished? Details will be very much appreciated, thank you!
I accidentally deleted my entire hard disk on my JVC camcorder, and wanted to know of a trustworthy program to recover them. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
I have a Toshiba Satellite model M105-S3041 that is giving me trouble. I just can’t turn it off while connected to an outlet. I go to start, turn off computer, turn off and it begins doing it, but whent it shuts down, Windows starts loading again and again. I have to disconnect it from the outlet to turn it off. Then when I want to turn it on, it has to be plugged to the outlet. Only when it’s running on batteries is when it works OK. I took it to service but they said it is a software problem. I erased the hard disk and made a recovery but that didn’t solve it. I bought it on Best Buy in CA but the thing is that I live in Guatemala. Anyone help?
I updated to Microsoft Service Pack 2, when I came home the next day my computer had restarted and said that there was no hard disk.
I tried the windows xp recovery and it couldn’t find any drives and then I tried to reinstall XP and it said there were no hard drives found!
so i have no computer now
What may have happened and is there a way to get it back?!
I have never ‘opened’ my computer and I live alone so Im sure no one else could have done this.
if your hard disk is corrupted how do i recover my data
My Maxtor 250GB hard disk appears to have failed. How do I recover the data without paying {content}0’s and sending it away?
I am recent grad looking for a job. That means I need the laptop badly and don’t have much money to fix it. The hard disk, started giving off some really loud noises in the morning and by afternoon, BIOS wasn’t even detecting it. I am not sure how long it would take to fix this and how much a new one would cost. Same about data recovery too. Any suggestions or advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

I have Windows Vista Ultimate. My computer has slowed down considerably over the past few weeks and I wanted to completely reformat it. I have Windows recovery disks as well as hard disk partition. I booted the computer with the recovery disks in the DVD drive but the screen said that the disks are not made for this PC and the recovery process cannot be carried out. I am sure the disks were made by this PC only. How do I reformat my PC so that it is back to factory settings?
Many times, floppy disks turn bad and it becomes necessary to recover files by using a software like PC Inspector File Recovery or similar software.
Whereas the software recovers many of the files, it is noticed that each file is numbered as a cluster and each one has a uniform size of 1440 KB.
I would like to know as to why each file is shown as of the above size and whether the recovered and saved file actually occupies this much space on the Hard Disk?
so I tried a few computer software programs like pc tools(actually tried and it didn't work at all) saying that they could do a Gutmann wipe on my computer disk making it harder to recover files, deciding to really test it, however after running a few software programs saying they could remove files, I've repetitively found past files on my computer's hard disk. is there any way to truly hide these files from disk recovery programs like norton and diskdoctors..etc?
