I have a Maxtor OneTouch 4 mini and I have accidently deleted 7.45 GB of files that are critical to me and I need them back now. Do you have any free tools to recover these files and any tips on how to do this?

My computer is corrupt and I don’t have a windows xp CD or recovery disk to start over. I do have a Windows XP and Service Pack I on a DVD-R but I don’t know how to extract windows xp from it, all it does is back it up which made my hard drive full. I have a Maxtor hard drive and it came with a CD Maxblast 4 and I don’t know if that would help me reinstall my computer. Any suggestions?

My Maxtor 250GB hard disk appears to have failed. How do I recover the data without paying {content}0’s and sending it away?

My Seagate:Maxtor OneTouch 4 (500GB) is unaccessible. I have tried the programs but i was unsuccessful. Please help if you know any information.

A few years ago my maxtor daimond plus 9 250gb hard drive was left inside my computer running and this girl i know was using it while i was
away. She said there was some smoke coming from it and then the
computer just shut off.

I was mad, I took out the hard drive and seems on the board a part
was burnt. After that I could not use it at all and nothing will detect
the hard drive.

Besides going through a hard drive recovery service that can get
the data, what else could i do?

I have almost a same model hard drive. The maxtor diamond plus 10 250gb hd. I was wondering if theres any way to switch whatever I
need like the disk inside in order to try to recover the data.
Would I be able to? And how would I there are weird screws on
all the hard drives I wouldnt know what tool to use.

But is it possible using this method?

Have you heard of http://www.californiadataservices.com I am trying to recover a physically damaged drive. I dropped my maxtor 320 GB external hard drive on the floor and am looking for a cheap place to send it because I DO NOT want to spend 0 to recover this data. And California data services has a "no data no charge" policy and I was just wondering if any of you guys have dealth with them before. If not do you have any other suggestions?
