My computer freezes at the boot screen, the little blue bar just stops moving. I have left it alone like that for about an hour just to be sure it isn’t actually loading.

It will boot in safe mode. And I have tried it without the graphics card.
I have the XP install disk(not the recovery disk that came with the computer, i bought this one after i lost it).
It also wont start with last known configuration that worked mode.
I haven’t recently updated or installed new drivers.

The computer is a e-Machines t3065
I have XP with service pack 2.

after using a recovery disk..the same problem occurs. When I get the black Windows screen with the blue bar at the bottom..it goes to a blue screen for half a second (can’t read it)..and then the laptop restarts. I can sometimes get it to load up by selecting ‘last config that worked’ only when it lets me get the selection page…or if I press F12 to select my harddrive so that it will work.

This happens frequently..but sometimes i’m able to start my laptop up with no problem.

I’m considering sending it to the a service provider since it is still under warranty. But if there is a way to fix it myself..i will

everything stopped working. i had windows xp. i put in the recovery disk and still nothing worked. for a few days it was down. hated that. a friend came over and installed windows 2000, but things aren’t working right. i can’t stay hooked up to msn. and the color is horrible. it has only 16 whatevers. my pictures are mostly a blur. iv’e tried to download the service packs 1,2 and 3 but that does’t happen either. i have dsl. now win 2000, explorer 6 . is there any way to get better color and to keep the internet going? thank you thank you

I reinstalled window on my computer and down loaded service pack 2 from microsoft and when it restarted my computer it came back with a black screen. then i put the recovery disk in it and it said i need to reinstall windows.the reason i reinstalled windows it gave me a error message windows root system32 /hal.dll was missing .does this mean the computer is bad.it just deleted the new xp i put on it

So last week, I got my new HP Pavilion dv4t laptop. I charged it, and when it started up I got this message:

Status: 0xc000000f

Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.

and it tells me that i need to install the windows disk and restart the computer and all that…

so i call customer service and they send me the recovery disk for windows 7, which i got yesterday. I put the disk in my laptop today, and I’m still getting the same message. Any ideas what’s wrong? Thank you!

I called the tech department and since it was out of warranty, all they could do was send me the recovery disks. I installed the recovery disk, then when I inserted the first of 5 disks to restore the devices/drivers, I got an error message stating:
error copying file D:\RECOVERY\BKD021A.IM2.Error 23ata error (cyclic

redundancy check).

;

My disks loaded, but I am missing lots of stuff - like sound, wireless capability, ability to play DVDs etc. I tried reloading it and now it just keeps recycling through the restoration cycle, but I cannot sign on to Windows. Can anyone help? I can’t believe that Lenovo doesn’t have better service than this.
My OS is Windows XP and the model number is 8922-2FU (3000 serious laptop) Hope this helps!

it keeps saying "The group policy client service failed the log on" what do i do? Oh and i dont have a recovery disk, and i can’t log on with safe mode.

I have System Recovery Disk for Latitude D600 laptop. Can I use this disk to restore another Latitude D600 with different service tag? If yes, what happens to the Windows XP CD-Key license? Is the CD-Key associated with any Recovery disk? If not what CD-Key will show up after recovery?

Many thanks

I have a Dell inspiron i1545 laptop and i would like to create recovery disk/s the computer is using windows vista home premium Service pack 2 32 bit operating system. I would like to know what program to use to make the recovery disk. I have been looking at almost all the programs on the computer and the only thing that i see is the Backup and Restore application in the Backup and Restore center. Not for creating any sort of recovery disk. Any information is appreciated.

I have another computer A Hp compaq CQ60-615DX Laptop and i already created the recovery disks for the computer it only took 3 since i used a DVD+R so it took less disks to create. The thing is there was a program for me to use but i can’t find a Recovery Program for my dell computer in the list applications again any information is highly appreciated.

I have a new HP Pavilion A6550in with windows Vista home basic preloaded. Within a few days I began to get start up repair every time I turned on the PC. It also got the blue screen. It says "your computer has been turned off to prevent damage to your computer" and loads all the physical memory on the hard disk. Then the hard disk got problems. Then the service person changed RAM, Hard disk, Motherboard and graphics card one after the other. I reloaded the OS form the recovery disk we created. Even then now I am getting the Blue screen. What could have been the problem and is there any solution?

I have an IBM ThinkCentre and i am worried that someday something will happen and I will have to reinstall windows. The only problem is that it didn’t come with a recovery disk. Where can I get one?

I’m told you have to make your own recovery disk for windows 7, but with that disk can you restore the computer to "factory state".(How it was when it was new, meaning delete everything)

I think I have 2 Windows XP Home OS in my computer. I need to delete the bad one.

My Windows XP Home would not run after I had loaded a PC game, and I used my CD Recovery disk. During the reload process, the program would not accept the license key saying it is not valid. However, I managed to complete the recovery process. Now, at start-up a DOS display is asking to select one of the same Windows XP Home editions listed. I selected the first one (done by the recovery). My Windows XP works but now I always get a message saying Windows is not genuine and that I must activate it (and I have x-number of days to do it). I think, somehow, the earlier defective Windows was not deleted (license key still active) when the C-drive was reformatted and now I have 2 instances of Windows XP Home in my computer. How do I delete the bad OS, and so I can use my license key again? Or, do I have a different problem?

I made recovery disk for my windows vista home basic last year and tonight i wanna recover my laptop and when i restart my computer with the disk inside, the recovery disks dont load, help me please

My laptop was messed up…So I thought I should do a computer recovery(im not computer savvy, so I’m not sure what I did or if I should of done it ) anyway…My computer seems like it is back to normal except I cant connect to my wireless router. In fact, I dont even see my old program that let me search for wireless networks in the area-it’s gone.
My router is a Linksys, would my best bet be to just call Linksys customer service and have them connect me? Or is there something that would be easier and less time consuming?
The geek squad at best buy left a disk labeled "customizer 351" in my laptop when they previously had itto change the hard drive. Could I use this disk to help me? Or should I return it?
Anyway, my laptop is a Gateway…um and I’m just trying to connect to my wireless router after I did a full system recovery or reboot or whatever it’s called….if you need more info then feel free to e-mail me…any help would be great since I’m stuck using the interenet at mylibrary…or drivign an hour to my mothers house to use her computer…please help!
Any clue on how to install the wifi driver?
is it involved with my recovery disk? haha I am just so confused, I probably should of left my laptop all messed up….
alright well I put in the disk to install that stuff but it says "error 302" and I remmeber that happening the first time I tried settting itup….I’m gonna have to call Linksys I suppose…

So i got Windows Recovery Disks and i can use them to recover my vista along with the Vista CD? but there is a recovery disk creator thing. Im not sure? any info would help thank.

I have Reinstalled windows xp on my laptop using a recovery disk how do I install Service Pack 3, My laptop has sp2 on it

I have a laptop that I’ve been trying to restore to its factory settings which is a Compaq Armada (I don’t know which one exactly) and it runs in Windows XP. I don’t have a recovery disk (except for the Service Pack) and I’m not sure if I’m capable of burning recovery disks. Does anyone know how to make recovery disks and/or restore it to its factory settings (step-by-step guide)?

I really want to just reset the whole laptop as if it was just bought brand new. And for some odd reason, the firewall settings cannot be found.

What does the windows vista recovery disk do…?
What can it do…?

I have other questions open, in relation to this question…

My laptop went through a Recovery Disk procedure. It was the laptop I used to install a wireless router. I have a cable modem for my internet service. I know that the router and modem still work perfectly cuz I used a different laptop to access my internet service using the WEP key I assigned previously. However, my original laptop doesnt connect to the internet service automatically anymore, and I have to type in the WEP everytime to gain access. How do I save the WEP on my original laptop? Or, do I have to go thru configuring my wireless router again?

Hi, I got a recovery disk for a windows vista 64 bit system from torrent, this was back in 2008 and I am not sure if it will work with the new Service Pack 2 update. Thank you!

I had a problem with my computer
it kept telling me, no boot service avaliable.
sata0 installed
sata1 installed
sata2 none
sata3 none

Then i put in a disk, i think it was a recovery disk.
now its tellinng me to install windows.
will i lose all my files if i do this?
i also have the option of repairing my computer
but i have to pick a file.

How do I restore my computer to factory defaults? I have been having problems and I need to do this. (XP service pack 3).

BTW~ It didn’t come with a start up/recovery disk.

I am having computer problems and need to bring it in for service, I am afraid that I am going to have to run a recovery disk in which I would lose everything on my hard drive. So I am wanting to do a mirror image (not just a back up because I don’t want to lose some of my programs) of my hard drive onto my external hard drive before I bring it in as a safety measure.

I know it is possible to do, but the only person I know who has done this had it done by a professional service. Is there a way I can do this at home? If so, how?
