no
for your acer press ALT + F10,at start up to restore to factory default
yes it will, it will also install drivers for the hardware that the dell computer had, so you might not have the right drivers. once you get in running use device manager to see which drivers need updating and get those from the internet.
Probably not as the recovery disk are from Dell and are designed for your Dell computer. However, your Acer should have a recovery partition that you should be able to access as one of your boot options unless your hard drive is what crashed.
I tried to use WinXP recovery CD’s from my HP laptop on my in-law’s Compaq desktop and it would not work although the computers were built by the same company.
One OS per one key per one computer. Anything else is piracy!
Nope sorry it won’t. A recovery cd is proprietary to the computer it comes with. Its a pre-loaded OEM (orginal equipment manufacturer cd) that contains the drivers of all the system hardware drivers for that computer only.
Hope this helps.
Any recovery disk for a specific manufacturer usually has a recognition factor built in. If I use my HP disks on any other type of PC they refuse to work, giving an error message. I have a universal recovery disk which works on anything. You either need an acer disk or a universal (they are hard to come by (industry only).
